Contact Youth offers confidential independent counselling for young people aged 11-25 in local community sites. Young people talk to us about lots of issues like family problems, stress, bereavement, difficulties at school, anger, feeling down, alcohol and drugs, suicide, self-harm. Sometimes there may seem to be no obvious reason for feeling hurt, sad or down, confused, rejected, angry, hopeless or worthless.
Our counsellors are experienced and sensitive to young people’s needs and interests. We are there to listen to you and support you. This could help you to - Understand yourself and your relationships better - Find new ways of doing things - Feel less confused or worried for example
We will not tell you what to do or assume we know better than you about your life. One young person describes his counselling experience: “just being able to talk to someone who would give support and listen was fantastic” (14 year old male, Belfast) |
