Walk for life

Pictured are pupils and teachers from several schools across County Fermanagh who took part in the “Really Wild Flower Workshop” as part of the Walk for Life event organised by the Western Trust Health Promotion Department in partnership with Contact Youth. Deborah Hunter, Western Trust Health Promotion Department said, “The Walk for Life event was very enjoyable and used a creative approach involving families to promote the message to young people that they should seek support and ask for help during times of crisis or distress.” Art Therapists, Julie Murphy and Rachael Johnson from Contact Youth said:  “The young people really seemed to understand how important the Lifeline service is for them and this was reflected in their artwork. The Lifeline helpline is free to call 24 hours a day on 0808 808 8000 and is available to people of all ages who may be in distress or despair”.   Artwork from the event will be displayed in Community House, Omagh as part of the official opening of Contact Youth offices in Omagh on 30th April.   If you would like more information about this event or if you would like to organise a Walk for Life in your area, please contact Deborah Hunter, Health Promotion Department on: 028 7186 5127.
